I love building communities. I've been doing so since I was fifteen years old. At the time, I was helping with a LittleBigPlanet fansite called LBPCentral, with a simple goal: to help improve it in any way that I could. By the time I was seventeen, I was the owner/operator and LBPCentral had become the largest LittleBigPlanet fansite in the world, with over 8,500 registered users and 25,000 daily page views.

I find motivation through passion. When I am excited about something, I put every ounce of my available effort into it. At the end of the day, there is no better reward than the knowledge that I completed a task to the best of my abilities and I am happy with the outcome. That mindset has led to many a sleepless night, but I am the type of person who would happily sacrifice sleep to finish something I started.

I am also a devoted gamer. I've been playing video games since the N64 was considered "new tech", and I've made a point to purchase almost every console that has been released since. I play console games more often than not (both on Xbox Live and PSN), but I do some gaming on the PC as well (primarily through Steam). I'm particularly fond of powerful single-player experiences, such as Portal or Oblivion, but generally I enjoy a quality game regardless of its genre.

Community Management: I am familiar with managing communities of all sizes, in all stages of growth. I am good with people - whether it's working above them, with them, or for them, I know how to develop and maintain the relationships needed to work well with others. I am also good at team building - my ability to understand the motivations behind an individual's actions makes me a very good judge of character, which means I can more easily craft a team that will work well together.
Web Design: I have familiarized myself with web standards, browser rendering engines, and various programming languages. I am most skilled with XHTML and CSS, but I do have a fair handle on PHP and Javascript as well. Though it is intentionally very light bandwidth-wise, this website is a good example of my abilities. It utilizes XHTML 1.0 Transitional as well as optimized CSS and a small bit of jQuery. My portfolio includes screenshots of my other work as well.
